PHUKET, THAILAND — February, 9, 2024 — Wyndham Destinations Asia Pacific, the resort management company overseeing Wyndham Grand Phuket Kalim Bay has proudly announced the completion of a transformative USD$1.3 million refurbishment project of its Club Wyndham Asia suites, pool suites and pool villas.
The milestone has seamlessly integrated contemporary Thai aesthetics with a design narrative inspired by the captivating tales of nearby Kamala Beach, unveiling a total of 20 suites, and villas which cater to the discerning members of Asia's premier travel membership and lifestyle club, Club Wyndham Asia.
The original suites, 1-bedroom pool suites and two-bedroom pool villas underwent significant enhancements to elevate the club member experience. The design team from award-winning S+A infused a sense of sense of balance, spirituality, and harmony into the interiors, transforming the once minimalistic style into a vibrant and relaxed beach atmosphere enriched by lotus motifs and modern Thai decor.
Key upgrades include the refinishing of wooden floors, textured paint, and wallpaper accents to enhance visual appeal, and redesigned kitchenettes and mini bars for improved functionality. New furniture and fixtures, technological upgrades such as ceiling-mounted TVs with swivel functionality, international and USB-C power outlets, and upgraded lighting solutions contribute to the overall transformation.
The word Kamala stems from Sanskrit origins and means ‘lotus flower’ and the design narrative unfolds through materials and patterns inspired by the lotus, incorporating shapes and colours reminiscent of the flowers and leaves. The colour palette draws from the sea, sky, and lotus flowers, creating a cohesive visual experience that authentically captures the essence of the local environment and culture.
Outdoor spaces were not overlooked, with the installation of a NewTechWood deck offering unparalleled durability and beauty. Engineered using a blend of recycled plastics and wood fibres, these decks provide the perfect balance of strength and sustainability. Coupled with new outdoor sun beds, they offer a seamless transition from indoor to outdoor living.
