The recent Alternative Ownership Conference Asia-Pacific was hosted at the Grand Hyatt in Singapore on March 13th and 14th and provided an excellent opportunity to Industry Leaders to share their views on industry growth, regulation and wider challenges. A Special Session was delivered on the Wednesday afternoon which focused upon industry Start-Ups featuring speakers from Anantara Vacation Club plus Marriott Vacations World as well as a legal perspective from one of the hospitality partners at Clyde and Co., Delegates from more than a dozen countries heard presentations relating to regional travel trends, product evolution, the use of technology in real estate marketing and sales, innovation in resort design, the future of mixed-use development models, as well as some interesting perspectives given during an Industry Leaders’ Panel. Highlight presentations were delivered by Carrie Law, the CEO of Juwai.com, China’s leading real estate portal, as well as an informative presentation by Mark Wang, the CEO of the Hilton Grand Vacations Company relating to the Company’s growth in north east Asia and its progress and development since being spun off by its Hilton parent. The APRDO Board was able to meet early on the morning of the 14th ahead of its President, Bill Minnock, addressing the Conference later in the day regarding the Organisation’s progress since incorporation, its Membership update and its focus for the coming year. Numerous networking breaks, as well as the closing cocktail party, provided plenty of time for dialogue amongst delegates at the Conference Hotel which provided a well-located and comfortable venue with excellent facilities and guest service throughout the Event.
